MIQUEL BARCELÓ

1957
Born in Felanitx, Majorca, Spain

Spanish contemporary artist. He uses a wide range of media. His works are part of many prominent projects including backdrops for opera, murals, engravings as well as terracotta and ceramic sculptures. He achieved international acclaim in 1982 for his participation at Documenta 7 in Kassel. He lives between Paris, Majorca and Segou (Mali). He has had numerous gallery and museum exhibitions including those at the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo and Musée du Louvre in Paris. His work are part of many prominent collections such as those of the Centre Pompidou, Guggenheim Bilbao Museum and Museu d’art Contemporani of Barcelona.
