With a background in performance, film, and directing, Greg Haberny’s work is the metamorphosis of found objects into totems of memory and material. Bending the rules around perspective, figuration and installation, his practice trusts what is close at hand, and involves methods of manipulation through painting, melting, cutting, and burning. Objects are rendered both crude and unaffected, free from baggage, engaging themes personal and universal.

Haberny has exhibited in galleries throughout the United States, Europe and Japan, including solo exhibitions at Middlebury College Museum of Art in Connecticut; the McColl Center for Visual Art in North Carolina; and the Katonah Museum of Art Triennial in New York. He is a key collaborator in the annual Bombay Beach Biennale in the California desert, and was included in Banksy’s 2010 Marks and Stencils pop up in New York, and Dismaland in 2015. He currently lives and works between Los Angeles and New York.
